Conference on Language and Language Teaching

Cancellation of ICLLT-1 February 4, 2010

Dear candidate presenters and participants of ICLLT-1,

It has been announced that the First International Conference on Language and Language Teaching (ICLLT-1) was postponed from October 16 – 17, 2009 to February 26 – 27, 2010. We wish that the recovery and renovation post-earthquake in Padang could be held in 3 – 6 months. However, the committee still cannot prepare and find convenient places and accommodations for the conference. Padang still needs 1 – 2 years to go to have recovery. Moreover, the psychological conditions to hold the seminar are not supporting yet. There are still hot issues of upcoming earthquake and tsunami.

In accordance with this, we are very sorry to announce again that the ICLLT-1 cannot be held at the planned time; it should be canceled, then. The English Department plan to have another seminar or conference in 2011 so that we can meet on it later. Once the date is decided, we will contact you soon.

For those presenters and participants who have made the payment for registration, please e-mail the committee your account number. We will return the money as soon as possible.
